As if Chris Pratt wasn’t having a great enough year already, what with the success of Avengers: Infinity War and the upcoming release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, he can now add MTV Generation Award to his list of wins.
On Thursday, MTV announced that the Parks and Rec actor would be presented with the Generation Award at this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards on June 18.
The accolade, awarded annually to actors who have displayed outstanding talent and noteworthy contributions to film and television, has previously been bestowed upon Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey and in 2017 the Fast & Furious franchise — marking the first years the award had not gone to an individual actor.
This year, Black Panther leads the MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations with seven, including Best Movie, Best On-Screen Team, and two for star Chadwick Boseman: Best Performance in a Movie and Best Hero. While over on the TV side of things, Netflix’s Stranger Things gained the most noms with six, including Best Show, Best On-Screen Team, and Best Performance in a Show, for Millie Bobby Brown.
