Chris Pratt will get to play his three-for-one movie role in two years’ time. Cowboy Ninja Viking, a film based on the Image Comics series of the same name, has received a June 28, 2019 release date, courtesy of Universal Pictures.
With art by Riley Rossmo and a story from AJ Lieberman, the first issue was published in May 2010 and introduced a world with “Triplets,” people with multiple personality disorder turned into a “band of ridiculously disturbed but highly effective assassins.” Pratt’s Cowboy Ninja Viking is one of these said assassins with the ability to manifest the toughest skills of three different personas: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking. The Academy announced on Wednesday that it’s inviting 774 new members — a record-breaking number.
It marks the second year in a row that the institution has broken its own record; last year, it set a new high-water mark by inviting 683 new members. Additionally, people of color make up 30% of the new class — a significant statistic following the #OscarsSoWhite protest that made waves in 2016. According to the Academy’s announcement, there has been a 331% increase of people of color invited to join the Academy from 2015-2017. The Academy has vowed to make its membership better reflect the world demographics, after many years of criticism that women, racial minorities and international artists were under-represented. As a result, the number of new-member invitations has risen steadily. [Source]

When it comes to stunt casting on Mom, it doesn’t get any better than this: Anna Faris’ husband has agreed to guest star in an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy, EW has learned exclusively.
In case you’ve lost track of who’s hitched to who in Hollywood, Faris is married to Chris Pratt, who is busy filming sequels to Jurassic Worldand Guardians of the Galaxy. Fortunately, the affable actor found time to appear on the sitcom that returns this month on CBS.
In the episode that will air in January, Pratt will play Nick, a charming (natch!) horseback riding instructor who Christy (Faris) decides to pursue – despite the fact he’s the nephew of Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), who declared him off-limits. [Source]
“Misfit” is not the word that comes to mind when thinking about Denzel Washington, 61, or Chris Pratt, 37. Washington, a two-time Academy Award winner, has been playing gritty, gripping characters for four decades in films like Training Day and Flight. Pratt rose to fame as the goofy guy on TV’s Parks and Recreation in 2009 before moving into breezy blockbuster film roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. Now the two headline The Magnificent Seven, a Western that hits theaters September 23, which Pratt describes as “seven misfit personalities all coming together to fight for something that’s bigger than themselves.” [Source]
Chris just announced through his snapchat that today was his last day on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ and he just wrapped filming. He said that he will go MIA for the next 6 months fishing but we doubt that as James Gunn confirmed today that ‘Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ will be in Comic Con this July through his facebook page.
At a press event for Captain America: Civil War, Comicbook.com had the chance to ask the Russo Brothers which character they’re particularly looking forward to working on – and neither of them appeared in their latest effort.
“The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done,” Anthony Russo told Comicbook.com. “[Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited,” he said, teasing Pratt and Star-Lord’s presence in Infinity War. [Source]
